We are delighted to host a dance and movement masterclass for the students at the University of Wolverhampton.
Dancers will work closely with Regional Voice Theatre’s movement director Helen Calcutt to explore methods of translating text into organic movement, and the ways in which dance can re-play (or expose) a given narrative.
Dancers will focus on a sense of ‘intention’ – both from within the text and the body, as well as working to engage with, and strengthen their own creative interpretations of the written work. Dancers will shape their own, word-inspired choreographies, moving towards a place where the reactions of the body, and the focus of the language, can meet.
Workshop date: Wednesday 21st March, 9am
Contact: Danielle -d.aways@wlv.ac.uk
Please note this workshop is open to Wolverhampton University students only.
